Planned obsolescence
Obsolescence (noun) – the state of becoming old-fashioned, outdated and no longer useful.
Who would say it can be planned too?
Planned obsolescence (also known as built-in obsolescence or premature obsolescence) is a practice of planning or designing a product with an artificially limited lifespan or an intentionally bad design in order to make it obsolete after a certain pre-determined period of time. Its functions slow down, stop or the product might be regarded as unfashionable.
Keep this in mind next time when you make a plan to buy a new phone, laptop or fridge… 😊
